Site Supervisor | Mining, Civil Earthworks & Concrete

Central Queensland Mining, Earthworks & Civil Concrete Remediation | DIDO from Mackay & Coalfields (Bowen Basin)| 5/2 Roster

We’re seeking an experienced and driven Civil Site Supervisor to lead earthworks and concrete remediation projects across our major Tier-1 mine site contracts in the Bowen Basin.

QCCS is looking for a leader who knows how to drive a schedule, manage a crew, and maintain the high safety standards QCCS is known for.

  • Roster – 5 days on, 2 days off (Drive out Monday – Return home Friday). Enjoy your weekends at home.

About the Role

  • Reporting to the Project Manager, you will own the site from mobilisation to handover:
  • Supervision: Leading civil earthworks, drainage, and specialized concrete remediation works.
  • Team Leadership: Driving QCCS crews and subcontractors to hit daily production and quality targets.
  • Compliance: Ensuring 100% adherence to WHS, QA, and site-specific standards.
  • Logistics: Coordinating plant, materials, and daily site requirements.
  • Communication: Liaising with project engineers and client representatives.
 

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years in a Site Supervisor or Leading Hand role (Mining or Civil).
  • Technical Edge: Strong background in civil earthworks and/or concrete.
  • Leadership: The ability to manage a team and make high-pressure calls on the ground.
  • Mandatory: S1, S2, S3 & G2; White Card; Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • Highly Regarded: Relevant Trade Qualification, Coal board Medical & Standard 11

Drive the operational standards of our established Gladstone branch in this high-impact, hands-on leadership role.

 

About the role

QCCS (Queensland Complete Contracting Services) is seeking an experienced Asset and Logistics Lead for our Gladstone operations. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who can take full management of our local yard and equipment.

While there are no direct reports, you will be the functional lead for the Gladstone branch plant and equipment. You’ll ensure our compliance, project-readiness, and manage with the high standards QCCS is known for across Central Queensland.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the full lifecycle of Gladstone assets, ensuring all plant and equipment are accurately logged and maintenance-ready
  • Utilize the asset maintenance program to track, plan, and schedule all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability
  • Lead preventative and reactive maintenance programs and provide regular status reports to management on plant uptime
  • Optimize the layout of the Gladstone lay-down yard and utilize assets within the tool store to ensure maximum efficiency and organization
  • Coordinate the movement of equipment between sites and the yard, managing freight and maintaining critical spare part stock levels
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the yard, ensuring all work complies with the Health and Safety Management Plan
  • Allocate workshop space and tools effectively to ensure the weekly project schedule is delivered without delay
 

About you

  • Background in civil construction and a hands-on approach to asset management
  • Current HR Licence and Forklift Licence required.
  • High level of computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong knowledge of the Gladstone region and a proven track record with local suppliers and transport companies
  • Focus on integrity, results, and looking out for your workmates
  • Highly Regarded (But not essential)
  • Dogman Licence
  • Experience with MEX, Viewpoint, or similar asset management software
  • Understanding of construction asset performance and maintenance procedures
  • Background as a light vehicle mechanic, or similar

  • Experience working in and around rail corridors and mine sites – Formwork, structural frameworks, general civil carpentry, concrete form systems, structural works, platforms and culvert replacements.

Concreters

  • Deliver concrete works for rail and mine site projects – from steel-fixing and formwork to pouring, finishing, and remediation.

All-Round Operators

  • We’re looking for operators with experience across a range of equipment, including: Excavators (up to 30t), Skid Steers and Loaders for civil, rail, and mine site works.

 

 

Highly Regarded

  • Relevant qualifications (Cert III or trade equivalent, Machine RII’s)
  • HR Licence
  • Cat 3 Rail medical or Coal Board Medical
  • SARC Certificate (Safely Access the Rail Corridor)
  • Experience in heavy rail and/or mine site environments

Key Responsibilities

  • Roadworks: Complete excavation and earthworks for road construction projects.
  • Pipe Installation: Support trenching and installation of underground services.
  • Structure Excavation: Undertake excavation for concrete structures and civil infrastructure.
  • Earthworks: Perform cut and fill, bulk earthworks and site preparation.
  • Drainage & Dams: Assist with drainage, water infrastructure and dam construction works.
  • Safe Operations: Operate plant safely while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
  • What We Are Looking For
  • We value people who take pride in their work, value safety, and have a sharp eye for technical accuracy.

 

 

Ideally, you will have:

  • Relevant RIIs/tickets and equipment competencies (Excavators, Skid Steers & Loaders etc.)
  • Previous experience on civil or mining projects.
  • A White/Blue Card and current Driver’s Licence.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing random drug & alcohol screening.
  • A focus on integrity, results, and a “can-do” attitude that fits a high-performance team environment.
