Asset and Maintenance | Gladstone Operations

About the Role

QCCS (Queensland Complete Contracting Services) is seeking an experienced Asset and Logistics Lead for our Gladstone operations. This is a “step-up” role designed for a seasoned professional who can take full management of our local yard and equipment.

While there are no direct reports, you will be the functional lead for the Gladstone branch plant and equipment. You’ll ensure our compliance, project-readiness, and manage with the high standards QCCS is known for across Central Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functional Asset Leadership: Take ownership of the full lifecycle of Gladstone assets, ensuring all plant and equipment are accurately logged and maintenance-ready. Utilize the asset maintenance program to track, plan, and schedule all maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Maintenance & Compliance: Lead preventative and reactive maintenance programs and provide regular status reports to management on plant uptime.
  • Yard & Warehouse Ownership: Optimize the layout of the Gladstone lay-down yard and utilize assets within the tool store to ensure maximum efficiency and organization.
  • Logistics & Procurement: Coordinate the movement of equipment between sites and the yard, managing freight and maintaining critical spare part stock levels.
  • Safety Leadership: Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the yard, ensuring all work complies with the Health and Safety Management Plan.
  • Operational Planning: Allocate workshop space and tools effectively to ensure the weekly project schedule is delivered without delay.
 

What You Bring

  • Industry Grit: Extensive background in civil construction and a “boots on the ground” approach to asset management.
  • Licensing: You must hold a current HR Licence and Forklift Licence. A dogman’s license is also highly regarded
  • Digital Literacy: High level of computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to manage digital records and reporting.
  • Local Network: Strong knowledge of the Gladstone region and a proven track record with local suppliers and transport companies.
  • Leadership Traits: A focus on integrity, results, and “looking out for your workmates”.
 

Highly Regarded (But not essential):

  • Experience with MEX, Viewpoint, or a similiar asset management software.
  • An understanding of construction asset performance and maintenance procedures.

The role is ideal for a light vehicle mechanic, or similiar background.

QCCS is seeking a powerhouse Civil Site Supervisor to lead earthworks and concrete remediation projects across our major Tier-1 mine site contracts in the Bowen Basin.

This isn’t a ‘clipboard only’ role. We need a hands-on leader who’s just as comfortable driving a schedule as they are leading a crew from the front.

📅 Roster & Lifestyle

  • Roster: 5 days on, 2 days off (Monday – Friday). Enjoy your weekends at home.
  • Format: Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) from the Mackay/Whitsunday region.

  • Reporting to the Project Manager, you will own the site from mobilisation to handover:
  • Supervision: Leading civil earthworks, drainage, and specialized concrete remediation works.
  • Team Leadership: Driving QCCS crews and subcontractors to hit daily production and quality targets.
  • Compliance: Ensuring 100% adherence to WHS, QA, and site-specific standards.
  • Logistics: Coordinating plant, materials, and daily site requirements.
  • Communication: Liaising with project engineers and client representatives.
 

✅ What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 5+ years in a Site Supervisor or Leading Hand role (Mining or Civil).
  • Technical Edge: Strong background in civil earthworks and specialized concrete.
  • Leadership: The ability to manage a team and make high-pressure calls on the ground.
  • Tickets (Mandatory): S1, S2, S3 & G2; Standard 11; White Card; Manual Driver’s Licence.

These are not “bulk” labour roles. We are looking for two reliable professionals to join our local project team. You will be responsible for executing high-quality civil works, ensuring project-readiness, and maintaining the high standards QCCS is known for across Central Queensland.

  • Structural Execution: Deliver high-quality formwork, framing, and civil carpentry (for Carpenters) or expert pouring, screeding, and finishing (for Concreters).
  • Project Delivery: Work effectively within a small, focused site crew to ensure the weekly project schedule is delivered without delay.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all workmanship meets client specifications and QCCS internal standards the first time.

Site Supervisor | DBCT Maintenance Project

About the Opportunity

QCCS is seeking an experienced, disciplined Site Supervisor to oversee our maintenance and civil works team at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.

This role offers a rare level of stability on a live, long-term project with a confirmed pipeline of work through to 2028. We are looking for a supervisor with a trade background who values practical problem-solving and high-quality project delivery. This is a local Mackay position, providing consistent work without the requirements of FIFO or DIDO.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • As the Site Supervisor, you will lead the day-to-day execution of concrete services, repairs, and civil works. You will act as the critical link between site operations and the management team.
  • Operational Leadership: Supervise all aspects of concrete services, including remediation, demolition, reinstatement, and structural strengthening.
  • Crew Management: Lead and mentor on-site crews and Leading Hands to ensure daily KPIs and safety targets are met.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce WHS standards and manage all JSEAs and site-specific permits in accordance with DBCT and QCCS requirements.
  • Logistics Coordination: Manage subcontractors, plant hire, and material suppliers to maintain efficient project workflows.
  • Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports, and quality assurance (QA) documentation.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with engineers and terminal stakeholders to keep works within scope and on schedule.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: 5+ years in a Supervisor or Leading Hand role within civil construction or heavy industrial maintenance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong background in concrete remediation and structural repairs is highly regarded.
  • Decision Making: A logical, facts-based approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

 

Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification in civil construction or a related field.
  • Supervisor Competencies (S1, S2, S3).
  • Current G2 (RIISOL411E) or the ability to obtain.
  • White Card and current Manual Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
